the palm beach story fa capire, forse addirittura più di sullivans’ travels, perché i coen amino sturges. si era mai vista prima cornice narrativa più postmoderna? qualche pellicola aveva mai osato in precedenza gettare dubbi così profondi sulla stessa identità dei suoi protagonisti? quale altro regista fino ad allora aveva avuto il coraggio di raccontare una storia per poi dirci, e se non fosse andata affatto così? e se quelli che avete visto e seguito non fossero affatto chi vi ho fatto credere fossero?
